This is a piece I created years ago during the BLM movement in america for a project I was working on around the celebration of contrast, depicting dark skin and Afro hair as an example of the strength in what makes us different, painted from the perspective of a young white women from Belfast. My friend, Melody, allowed me to paint her, and I love imagining us in our communities humming along to a melody as sweet and powerful as diversity.
